Putt For Cash
Tournament Golf Events provides one of the most exciting contests to assist Tournament Directors. Our "Putt for Cash" putting contest will raise more revenue for the tournament, increase sponsorship, attract players and add to the overall excitement & value of the tournament.
Let’s face it, 90% of your participants would be on the PGA Tour if they could. This is the only chance they get to putt in front of a gallery for big money. It becomes the highlight of the tournament.
The "Putt for Cash" contest allows the players to qualify to make a 50 foot putt for a $ 5,000 or a $ 10,000 cash prize. The excitement and anticipation of this contest add to your tournament. Every player can putt and feels they are a part of a contest where they have a chance to win a big cash prize.
Let us give you some suggestions on how you may conduct your putting contest:
- During the tournament round, the players stop at the putting green and try to qualify by making the 15 foot putt.
- If the player makes the 15-foot putt, they qualify for the Putt-Off at the end of the tournament.
- The qualifiers putt off again at 20 ft. at the end of the tournament (it only takes about 15 minutes) until, by process of elimination, one or two players end up putting for the cash prize from 50 feet. It is exciting for the players, spectators and sponsors to have a gallery around the putting green, watching the finalists line up the putt for big money.
Some possibilities for raising additional revenue for your fund-raising tournament:
- You may secure a sponsor to pay for the “Putt for Cash” event, providing great exposure through player networking and signage at the putting green. It is a tremendous sponsorship opportunity for your tournament. Sponsoring an event is more attractive than just a sign.
- Volunteers at the putting green and the registration table can sell chances for the putting contest (e.g. Two Putts for $10.00). This money can be given to the charity. Players will likely pay for additional chances (when their friends aren’t watching!).
- Create an agreement that any winner donates half the proceeds to the charity.
Set your tournament apart from all the rest by including the "Putt for Cash."
